Hi. Since I don't hear much about the Moa, I don't know if it is good in PvP. My skills allow me to fly Mallers or Moas decently and I'm more into gunships right now. The way I see it, Maller does slightly more dps than Moa but Moa snipes pretty well (lvl 2 missions are easy in this ship).
It's too bad that Caldari gunships don't have the same number of turrets as hardpoints because I don't feel like holding missiles and hybrid ammo in a small cargohold. But If I don't use missiles/hybrid ammo, I feel like I'm gimping myself.
Anyway, I'm trying to decide which ship is the best for solo and small groups (like 2-4 people in gang). My friend, who's specializing in Gallente cruisers, is the person I'll be flying with a lot. So it'll be a duo most of the time with solo on the side. Between the Maller and Moa, which ship would best compliment him in his close range Vexor/Thorax?

Originally by: **** c0mmander I would go w/ the dura maller. Those are one tough ship to bring down. That or fly a blackbird thorax/vexor combo. I've had great success w/ that combo.
I'm not really interested in EWing with a Blackbird. I guess that's one point for Maller.

Anymore opinions out there between the Maller and Moa?

Originally by: Drakhis Moa is a decent ship in PVP With propor Gunnery and engineering skills.. just fit 4x 250mm Railgun II and 2 assault Launchers with like a tracking computer 2x invul shields large extender 2x BCU's and 2x PDU's should be a decent setup... but definately not for solo pvp small gang at best with iron charges should get an optimal of about 80km
Then would you say the Maller is more for me for both solo and small gang groups?

Now that I think about it. Forget about solo since I'm not really into that anyway. In a small gang group, which ship would perform better?

I really would like to know which ship will perform better in a small gang.

Originally by: Xio2 Go with whichever you can fly the best. They both have their ups and downs and its impossible to tell you which one when I don't know your skills or how you fight. I love the Maller..but I like the Moa just as well.
My skills are equally distributed to both Amarr and Caldari cruiser skills. Gun skills are about the same for both lasers and railguns.
If there is no clear winner in small gangs, I guess I could train up Caldari cruiser so I could fly a blackbird or a moa.

I think the better choice for me would be the Maller. I mean I could put an AB on with a Scrambler and Webifier. I could also have better tanking ability with it too since it's low slots are free for armor tanking.
With the Moa, I'd need a scrambler and webifier on it and that takes 2 of the 4 med slots it has. I don't think it would be shield tanked well with 2 med slots left. And I don't think armor tanking with a Moa is a good idea.
Even if I had a partner to pvp with, the maller would probably be the better choice. We could both scramble so if the guy has any warp core stabs, it'd be hard for him to escape. Plus I have some staying power with better tanking.
If all of my assumptions are wrong, please tell me now.

It is sad that I must leave Caldari ships forever. Had the Moa been given more med slots, I would stay with them but I cannot!
But hello to the sexy, SYMMETRICAL ships that are Amarr.
